The Confidence Coach

I help Asian Women unwrap their gifts so that they advance in their careers without sacrificing “me time” all the time through confidence-building workshops & confidence coaching.

THE BEGINNING

My first job overseas was with the leading financial services in Bermuda Island in 2007. I was a Fund Account Manager with the job title of Officer.

After two years in Bermuda Island, I worked for one year in Transfer Agency Department in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Then, I moved to Hong Kong in 2010.

Looks good? Yeah, but not really.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

I moved to different departments and different locations, but no promotion and salary increase. I thought it was okay to stay like that as I was already earning way more than my dream salary.

One day, I realized that I could achieve more, so I jumped to a global Hedge Fund Services in Hong Kong and got the Assistant Vice President’s job title.

After demonstrating my skills couple with my assignments in India and the Philippines, I was promoted to Vice President in less than three years.

As soon as I got my permanent residency status in Hong Kong, I explored other locations. I was fortunate to be hired as a Vice President by another global hedge funds services in Singapore.

It took me a while to discover my treasures (job titles, salary, etc.), and I realized that I could shorten it.

FUN FACTS

I’ve lived in six countries, including the Philippines, Bermuda Island, U.S.A., India, Singapore, and Hong Kong.   I’ve earned my degree in B.S. Accountancy from Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the Philippines. I’m a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.

I love writing and public speaking. With her “Chess Pawn” speech, I was awarded as the Champion of the JCI World Public Speaking Championship (Hong Kong Selection) 2018.

I am a graduate of International Coach Academy and a member of the International Coaching Federation.

MY MISSION

My goal is to save you time and money. If I made it, you could do it too in a shorter period!

I had been struggling with low self-esteem and motivation, but with Shiela’s support, guidance, and effective coaching, I was immediately on a positive path. I now feel more confident about myself, and I’m held responsible for my actions, which I have the need for sometimes.  It’s easy to be in the comfort zone, but not when Shiela is around as she pushes me out of it while at the same time supporting me.  Having someone who understands and listens effectively was refreshing, providing a professional, non-judgmental space. I thoroughly recommend Shiela to anyone, and her course has changed my life for the better!”

One of the things that I truly enjoy in coaching sessions with Shiela is how she facilitates my train of thought to arrive at solutions or action plans that I need to take to solve my problems and achieve my goals! I feel more accountable for acting on the tasks/ goals I set for myself every week after our sessions compared to when I just read self-help books or solicit advice from other people. It really enhances my sense of commitment to the goals that I set for myself! I truly believe that everyone should have access to the kind of emotional support provided by a coach, especially in these trying times.
